3 piece ball valve structure and characteristics
The valve body of the 3 piece ball valve is composed of a main valve body and two auxiliary valve bodies, so it is called the three-piece ball valve. After the ball core and valve stem are installed in the main valve body, the secondary valve body is installed in the seat, and the main and secondary valve bodies are connected as one through bolts. The ball core runner is also full diameter size.
3 piece ball valve also has internal thread connection, external thread connection, internal thread is usually used 55° taper pipe thread, good sealing. External thread with welded joint, can be welded with the pipeline. Maintenance disassembly is more convenient, to avoid the internal thread connection also need a separate loose joint
The main feature of the 3 piece ball valve is that it can be maintained online and is very convenient. Unscrew the valve body and remove a bolt through the main valve body. Turn the main valve body to replace the seat ring. The main valve body bolt can also be completely removed and the main valve body can be removed for maintenance. The secondary valve body is still on the line, avoiding the removal of the entire ball valve and greatly reducing the maintenance workload.
